Nominate an Outstanding Educator for the WSLS Education Impact Award

Do you know an educator who consistently goes above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of their students in the Roanoake., Virgina area? WSLS, in partnership with Blue Eagle Credit Union, invites you to nominate a remarkable teacher for the Education Impact Award—a monthly recognition celebrating educators who leave a lasting impression in their classrooms and communities.

From now through June 2025, members of the community can spotlight exceptional K-12 educators in the WSLS viewing area. Each month, one deserving educator will be honored with a $250 check for themselves and their school, thanks to the generous support of Blue Eagle Credit Union.

To nominate an educator, simply share their story—what makes them stand out, how they inspire others, and the unique impact they’ve made. Nominations will be judged on the following criteria:

1. Originality and creativity of your nomination statement

2. Inspirational power of the nominee’s story

3. How well the nominee embodies the theme of "Education Impact"

Whether it's a teacher who sparked a love of learning, supported students through tough times, or brought innovation to the classroom, this is your chance to give them the recognition they deserve.
