Emerge Maryland has announced its 11th Cohort. The Class of 2023 includes 16 women who will complete the only in-depth five month training program that inspires candidates to run and gives them the tools to win elections.
Participants will be exposed to various campaign and election experts as well as meet an array of women who hold elected and appointed offices. Program members are given specific opportunities to expand their political network and will become a part of a supportive network through Emerge Maryland.
Participants meet one or two Saturdays a month during the five month program and receive comprehensive training on topics such as:
Public Speaking and Communication Fundraising Media and Messaging Networking Campaign Strategy Endorsements Technology and Media Diversity and Inclusion Ethical Leadership
Emerge Maryland graduated its first class in 2013.
About Emerge Maryland
Emerge Maryland is an independent state affiliate of Emerge, which has trained more than 4,000 women to run for office since 2002. Emerge alumnae across the country have won more the 1,000 elections to date and hold office at every level of government. There are currently Emerge affiliates in 24 states — Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin with plans to expand to more soon. Women who graduate from Emerge Maryland’s training program are plugged into both the state network of Emerge Maryland alumnae, as well as the national network of Emerge alumnae across the country.
