Let’s learn more.
As the leader of two impactful organizations, what is your ultimate goal in helping others heal from trauma and achieve personal growth?
My ultimate goal is to provide a safe, empowering space where individuals feel seen, heard, and supported in their healing journey. I aim to help them transform their pain into strength and resilience, fostering the confidence they need to embrace their true potential. By equipping clients and students with practical tools and emotional insight, I strive to create lasting change that enables them to lead more fulfilling lives.
How do you define purpose, and what advice would you give to those struggling to find theirs?
I define purpose as the intersection of your passions, talents, and the impact you want to make in the world. For those struggling to find theirs, I encourage self-reflection: What makes you feel alive? What are you naturally drawn to? Pay attention to the small sparks in your life and trust that purpose is revealed through exploration and perseverance, not instant clarity. Be patient, stay curious, and embrace growth.
Your work spans a wide range of mental health topics, including trauma and relationships. What common misconceptions about mental health do you wish more people understood?
One common misconception is that mental health challenges are a sign of weakness. In reality, seeking help and addressing your mental health is an act of strength and self-awareness. Another is that trauma always looks the same — people often underestimate the cumulative effect of smaller, unresolved experiences. Mental health care is not one-size-fits-all; it requires compassion, cultural competence, and tailored approaches.

What role does gratitude play in mental health, and how can individuals integrate it into their daily lives?
Gratitude is a powerful tool for shifting focus from what’s lacking to what’s abundant in our lives. It fosters resilience, improves mood, and strengthens relationships. To integrate gratitude into daily life, start small: keep a journal to write down three things you’re grateful for each day or take a moment to express appreciation to someone who has made a difference in your life. Over time, this practice can reframe your mindset and deepen your sense of contentment.
What have been some of the most rewarding moments in your career, and how have they reinforced your commitment to your work?
Some of the most rewarding moments include witnessing breakthroughs in my clients’ lives, seeing my students apply what they’ve learned to create meaningful change, and receiving heartfelt messages about how my work has inspired others. These moments reinforce my belief in the power of connection, resilience, and intentional guidance. They remind me that the work I do has a ripple effect, touching more lives than I may ever fully realize.

How do you stay motivated and inspired while balancing the demands of leadership and service?
I stay motivated by remaining connected to my “why” — the driving force behind my work. Reflecting on my journey and the lives I’ve touched keeps me grounded. I also prioritize self-care, faith, and moments of stillness to recharge. Surrounding myself with a supportive team and celebrating small victories help me maintain balance and focus.
How do you empower your clients and students to overcome challenges and embrace their true potential?
I empower them by fostering a space of honesty, encouragement, and accountability. I challenge them to see beyond their current circumstances, offering tools and strategies to build resilience and confidence. By highlighting their strengths and helping them reframe setbacks as opportunities for growth, I guide them to embrace their inner power and realize what they’re capable of achieving.
What legacy do you hope to leave through your work in mental health and personal empowerment?
I hope to leave a legacy of transformation, hope, and empowerment. My vision is to inspire others to believe in their ability to heal, grow, and thrive. I want my work to break down barriers to mental health care, create inclusive spaces for healing, and spark conversations that challenge stigmas. Ultimately, I hope to be remembered as someone who helped others rise above their challenges with clarity, courage, and unwavering support.
